Every process map I needed started the same way: a messy list of steps scribbled in a notes app, followed by twenty minutes of dragging boxes and arrows around a canvas just to say what I'd already written down. The diagramming tools weren't hard to use — they were just in the way.
I wanted something that stayed out of my way entirely. Something where writing the outline was the diagram, where nesting a line deeper meant nesting a step deeper, and where pointing one step at another was as simple as typing a name in brackets.
Ziqurat is that tool. It's built for the moment when you're thinking out loud about how a process actually works — onboarding a customer, handling a support ticket, shipping a release — and you'd rather keep typing than keep dragging.
It's still evolving, and it's built first for how I work. If it's useful for how you work too, I'd love to hear about it.
